How To Play Texas Hold’Em Poker 

• In this game, each player sits at a round table with a dealer. Everyone is dealt two cards face down.
• In Texas Hold’em Poker, there are two types of bets: blinds and pot bets. These two bets are placed before any player looks at his/her cards. The blinds are mandatory bets made by two players sitting to the left and right of the dealer before he/she deals any cards.
• Each player places an ante, which is similar to a forced bet. The two players to the left of the big blind also place a forced bet called the small blind and the big blind.
• The dealer then deals three communal cards in the middle of the table, which is called the flop.
• The first player on the left may fold, or forfeit the game immediately. If the first player does not fold, there is another round of betting where each remaining player must match the amount of the previous bet or increase it if they want to stay in the hand.
• If there are no further raises after all players have acted, the dealer will place a fourth communal card on top of the original three in the middle of the table. This is called a turn or fourth street.
• There is another round of betting and an additional communal card on top of all those in play. This fifth card is called a river or fifth street.
• A final round of betting takes place and a showdown begins between all players still in action. The player with the best five-card poker hand takes down their winnings.
